for our first day for an immersion course at terminal operations, ellen and i were assigned to loading and unloading. tony pandes, the terops manager, gave us an overview on the work to give us an idea of what we would be facing for the day. little did i know that when i get there i'd be saying... "definitely a blog entry."
we came unprepared. sorching heat and sand dunes welcomed us. i told ellen, "ano to? nasa disyerto ba tayo?" but we weren't. that was the container yard and loading bay of pier 18. there was nothing to keep you shaded from the sun. sand and dirt was everywhere because the paths were not cemented.
there was even a incident after lunch when amidst the heat, the wind blew so strong that it blew up the dirt, made me say... "oh lord!" then ellen saying, "ano ka ba? alikabok pa lang yan tinatawag mo na si lord?"
i say this could be one of the toughest among the assignments throughout this immersion course. good thing we've already passed it. got a tan but not the beach-tan i want tough.
