i'm back in the busy and polluted streets of manila. it's time to go back to reality. but i'll tell you stories about my branch visit.
by the way, this week that i have been out on branch visits was the week that i had the most caffiene intake. coffee every day, sometimes up to three cups. my nutirionist friend told me that our coffee intake should be 2 to 3 cups only per week. so, watch out on your coffee!
Davao City
excited over the trip, i asked my brother to bring me to the airport at 3am for my 5am flight. it was not until i was there that i realized i was an hour too early for a domestic flight. no other choice but to sleep at one of the benches at the terminal as if i was in the amazing race waiting for my flight. as usual, PAL flight was delayed for an hour. i haven't taken a bath so i took my shower at the apartelle we stayed in. we we're off to work at 11am. hehe super petiks. we had lunch at Buffet Palace. it's not as yummy but there we a lot of choices. done by 630pm, we were now off to Aldovinco. this was the part of the trip that i have been waiting for. it's a cluster of small shops selling bags, scarfs, blouses, skirts that are from bangkok. some are sold really cheap but some are not. like those peasant skirts that i like but are sold at Php 800. dang!
dinner was at Yahong at The Venue. food was good. one of the best we had was the Crispy Buntot ng Tuna and the Seafood Chowder. then coffee at Bluegre Cafe. cappuccino was ok but the Oatmeal Fudge Bar was really good. never leave Davao without a pomelo at hand. and it has to be Golden Fruits brand.
General Santos City
we were off to GenSan the next day via land trip. it was a nice 2 hour trip. the roads were fine and it was a smooth ride. dinner was at Isla Parilla. wow! lotsa seafoods. we had prawns, tuna sashimi, and segeant fish. and an exotic dish (at least to me) of sizzling fish roe. it's texture is similar to pork liver but it doesn't have a bitter taste. we ddin't leave GenSan without tuna of course! i bought tuna chorizo, tuna belly and tuna steak.
Cagayan de Oro City
Cagayan was the last leg of the branch visit. it was a pretty full day because we had 4 branches to audit. but we were rewarded with a sumptous lunch at Country Steak House at Lim Ket kai Mall. Cagayan is a city of good meat. cold cuts and steaks are really good here. in Cagayan, if you have the budget and all, bring home ostritch meat. it's white meat but tastes a lot like beef and is best cooked as beef steak. but might hurt your pocket a little since a kilo of choice cut cost Php 460 pesos and prime cut costs Php 860. dang!
