amazing race, 2GO style

joining the amazing race is one of my dream... and i got what i wished for on my birthday!

june 14, 2005... i woke up with happy spirits cos it was my birthday. said my quick thanks to Kuya Jes then i got ready for work. this is the first time i will be working on my birthday. i didn't plan a birthday leave because there wouldn't be anything to do at home anyway. before leaving for work, i said to myself that i wouldn't let anyone dampen my spirits and ruin my day.

on my way to the office, there were already lots of text messages, friends from everywhere greeting me (to all my friends, thanks a lot!). first greeting from the office was Irene, then everyone else who knew followed. however, no one among my Asmira friends greeted me. hmm... maybe they are up to something???

it was already lunch time, still no one greeted me. i even got pissed when pinky said, "Bil, hindi ka magpapa-kain?" a question which made me blurt out, "hindi mo pa nga ako binabati, nagtatanong ka na kung magpapakain ako. Batiin mo muna kaya ako." then she said, " e di, happy birthday. hindi nga... magpapakain ka ba?" i wanted to shout, ano ba?!! but i controlled my temper and lunch went on...

3:45pm, the lobby guard gave a small note. sealed, i ripped it open and found a piece of paper saying something about joining the amazing race, blah, blah, blah... the end of the note instructed me to go to myra who was waiting outside for me. dazed and confused, i went out with only my mobile, a pen and 20 pesos at hand. mai handed me another small note and when i read it, that's only when i realized that I AM ACTUALLY DOING A REALITY GAME. well, at least of some sort. (all the challenges were documented, will post it soon.)

after almost 30 minutes going up and down times plaza building, the final destination was my "home", the office of Asmira. my Asmira friends were there and greeted me with a speech. it was short and sweet but definitely touch my emotional and sentimental side. it was definitely a birthday i will remember and tell my future kids and grandkids about.
