Gone Fishing

Dec. 29, 2008

We left the house at around 9am and arrived the fishing resort at 930am. Ready with our picnic basket and PSP (in case boredom kicks in), we walk for a few meters from the parking to get to the nipa huts by the fishpen.

We rented fishing rods from the resort and asked the staff how to fish. And the fishing begins.
  1. Attract the fishes by throwing in "fish chips" available at the resort.
  2. Put the bait - bread bought from the local bakery.
  3. Throw in your line.
  4. Wait.
  5. Wait.
  6. Wait some more.
  7. Check your rod... ooops! No more bait. (The fishes ate it all but were intelligent enough not to get hooked. Haha!)
  8. If you get lucky, some small fish will be stupid enough to bite. Haha!
After 5 hours, we were able to get 1.5 kilos of tilapia (St. Peter's fish) and .5 kilo (1 pc.) of bangus (milkfish). :) It was a fun and unique experience with my family.

Our catch for the day
