lola's birthday

It was one helluva day yesterday. Up and ready to go by 10am, JB and I were off to Robinson's Place to prepare for Lola Ying's birthday bash. :)

By noon, the chairs and tables were being set up. The mobile system was up and ready to make noise. And the cake was already in place. But there were still lots of thing to put together. By 4pm, I was officially in panic! The tags for the souvenirs were not yet done, the programs and misalettes are not yet in place, the stage design is not yet done, and worse... I'm late for my haircut appointment! Good thing my cousins were there to the rescue. Helping each other out, slowly we were able to put things together.

The party started with a mass officiated by Father Paul Marquez. Followed by dinner then the program. Dinner was taken cared of by the caterer recommended by a friend. Food was good... and plenty! :) Picture taking after dinner then we proceeded with the program. My Ate Precious was the host, and as expected she didn't fail to make everyone smile (and most of my cousins laugh... hehe.) The program went smoothly. There was a nice ode from my cousin Chrissie. A cute dance number from the Chocolate Boys and great grandchild, Bea (she's very sweet and smart!). And a funny but sweet version of The Way You Look Tonight sung by JC with music by Miggie and Icklet. The highlight of the night was the slide show of the old and new pictures of the Lee Clan - from the sepia pictures of Lola, my tito's and tita's to recent colorful pics of the Lee's from Australia and Canada.

The night will not be complete without the cake! Cake was made by Emily Uy of Sugarbox. It was a 2 layer carrot cake that everyone was eyeing even before the party started. So when it was time to try the cake, no one hesistated and everone forgot about their diet. The carrot cake was a hit! :)

The program ended at around 11pm but we were not home until 1pm. We still had to pack up and take home the left overs (ang dami talaga!). Going to bed by 3am, there were still pahabol na kwento from cousin JC, JB and mommy. As if we were not in the party, we were talking about all the same stuff! Ang saya kasi e!

I wish we can do a get together again as happy as this and hopefully complete. :)

.: will post pictures soon :.
